The spaceThis three-bedroom home is sure to impress, with one bedroom downstairs (queen bed) and two-bedrooms upstairs (one queen bed and one king bed), this house easily sleeps six people comfortably. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo, electric towel drying rack, and washer/dryer. Each bedroom has a swinging hammock chair that will have you relaxing in no time. There’s no better time than to bring your hammock. Lay back and listen to the wind mimic the sound of the ocean as it makes its way through the canopy of the forest. The fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to visit with one another as you cook a meal. The local coffee provided will help you feel right at home. The space has been designed as a mountain lodge while also highlighting its stunning architectural features. The home is only twenty minutes to Lassen Volcanic National Park and a scenic one hour drive from Burney Falls. After your adventures, you can relax underneath the stars with our outdoor fireplace, or gather among the big pine trees as you barbeque. You could stay inside lounging next to the fireplace, take a long bubble bath, or enjoy a good book in the hanging chairs. Either way, there’s plenty to do and several ways to get some R&R.
LASSEN LOCATION
The home is only twenty minutes from Mount Lassen National Park and forty minutes from Burney Falls. There is plenty of hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and lakes to explore nearby. Shingletown is a quiet town with a small food market, pizza store, and thrift/antique stores. You are also close to Redding (a 30-minute drive) where you have access to a larger city with more options for food, shopping, Sacramento river, and Turtle Bay.
Guest accessYou will have private access to the Meteorite Way at Mount Lassen home and all amenities during your stay. You can access our home any time with our secure, key less entry.
PARKING & SNOW REMOVAL
The house is located easily off of Meteorite Way which is a quiet cul-de-sac. There are two parking spaces off the street located in front of the house. It is easy to get into the house and the path is short. During a heavy snow season, it’s possible the driveway will not be plowed all the way to the house, but two cars can park in tandem and a shoveled walkway will be made to access the front door. Guests are asked to park in the driveway and to stay off the street, especially when snow is expected to fall to ensure our streets can be plowed. Residents/Guests are asked to stay informed about forecasts of snow accumulations and to plan accordingly.
WELCOME GUIDEBOOK
A few days before your stay, you will receive an email that includes a link to our welcome guidebook. It contains all the house information you’ll need, as well as recommendations for dining, activities and adventures. In addition, a printed version will be in the house during your stay.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in is after 4:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am.
Additional notesWi-Fi & CELL SERVICE
This house is located in an area with limited cell and WiFi service. We do offer WiFi, but it is a slow download speed and upload speed, therefore it is recommended that guests use the WiFi for browsing activities only during their stay. With limited cell service, it is recommended that you drive 10 minutes back to Shingletown for important calls.
PETS
We’re happy to host your furry friends. We can accept up to two dogs or cats for a nominal $20 fee per stay. All pets must be house-trained. We ask that they not lounge on furniture without the protection of a towel or blanket. With regular sightings of bears on our property, it is recommended to keep animals on a leash, especially at night, to ensure you can move away from a bear and back into the house safely.
FIREPLACES & FIRES
Outdoor: We have an outdoor fire pit and provide firewood. We allow open fires but ask that you use the hose to put the fire all the way out. Thoroughly douse the fire with large amounts of water and ensure it is no longer smoldering. In the summer months, fires may not be allowed due to the high wildfire risk. We will let you know if it is not allowed.
Indoor: The indoor wood fireplace is nice to use in the winter. We will provide some firewood next to the stove, and additional firewood is located on the front deck under the black tarp. Feel free to grab what you need during your stay. Make sure to leave the door closed while the fireplace is in use to prevent embers coming out onto the carpet. A small fire will go a long way to heat the house. Remember, heat rises so the upstairs gets really hot really fast. We do provide heaters upstairs when needed, but with the design of the house and the fact that heat rises you rarely need it. There are windows upstairs to release hot air if needed.
BBQ: We have a large BBQ for your use and we hope you can make some delicious meals during your stay. We ask that you turn off the grill and then turn the propane gas tank all the way off. Once the grill is cooled, then cover it back up with the outdoor cover.
TRASH DAY
As our trash day is on Tuesdays: an employee may come to the house on Monday evenings to roll our outside trash bins to the street. The bins are then returned near the front porch on Tuesdays. One less thing for you to worry about!

Guest interactionYou will get into the house with a code for the lock box located on the railing outside the front door. We are always available for questions, concerns, help with finding local recommendations, and any emergencies.
