The spaceWe are excited for you to experience what it is like to live in a unique A-Frame home. Nestled in the woods, you will not be disappointed by this one-bedroom listing. This home highlights a beautiful outdoor balcony big enough for a two-person hot tub, bbq, gas fireplace, and dining table. Great for viewing the stars at night or enjoying a beautiful day. You won't want to miss the beauty of the trees and the sound of the wind through the trees. In winter you can watch the snow falling outside while being comforted next to the gas fireplace.
There is one upstairs loft bedroom (queen) and bedding for someone to sleep on the couch downstairs (not a pull-out couch). The loft bedroom has a beautiful view of the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the tall pine trees. You will love the sight of the beautiful light streaming through the trees in the morning. The space has been designed to make you feel like you are in a mountain lodge while also highlighting the stunning architectural features of the home. There are plenty of places to sleep if you want to expand your reservation: in total there are three bedrooms: one upstairs in the loft (queen), one bedroom on the main level (two twin beds), one bedroom downstairs (queen bed), a daybed with trundle in the downstairs living room (two twin beds), and extra bedding for someone to sleep downstairs on the couch (not a pull-out couch). A reservation update can easily be made to accommodate more guests to join you.
LIVING & DINING AREA
Our living room is just the place to relax after days of exploring the wild beauty of the region. You’ll find lots of natural light in here – and woodsy decor rooted in a rich mountain lodge feel. Curl up on the sofa for a movie, share stories, or play games and laugh. Other touches include art of the Smokey the Bear and mother nature.

Enjoy home-cooked meals at our wood table, which seats 7-8 guests. After dinner, settle in for a family game night with cards and board games or have a soak in the hot tub before bed.

Guest accessThe house is located easily off Highway 44 in the community of Shasta Forest Village. There are up to four parking spots at the home. During snow season, the driveway may not be plowed all the way to the house, but cars can park in tandem, and a walkway will be shoveled to access the house. Guests are asked to park in the driveway and to stay off the street, especially when snow is expected to fall.
You will have private access to the Thumper A-Frame at Mount Lassen and all amenities during your stay. You can access our home any time with our secure, keyless entry.
PARKING & SNOW REMOVAL
The house is located easily off of Thumper Way which is located in a friendly neighborhood. There is a large parking area off the street located in front of the house. It is easy to get into the house where you can park really close to the entrance. During a heavy snow season, it’s possible the driveway will not be plowed all the way to the house, but a shoveled walkway will be made to access the front door. Guests are asked to park in the driveway and to stay off the street to ensure our streets can be plowed, especially when snow is expected to fall. Residents/Guests are asked to stay informed about forecasts of snow accumulations and to plan accordingly.
WELCOME GUIDEBOOK
A few days before your stay, you will receive an email that includes a link to our welcome guidebook. It contains all the house information you’ll need, as well as recommendations for dining, activities and adventures. In addition, a printed version will be in the house during your stay.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in is after 4:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am.
Additional notesWi-Fi & CELL SERVICE
This house is located in an area with limited cell and WiFi service. We do offer WiFi, but it is recommended that guests use the WiFi for browsing activities only during their stay. With limited cell service, it is recommended that you drive 5 minutes into Shingletown near Reeds for important calls.
PETS
We’re happy to host your furry friends. We can accept up to two dogs or cats for a nominal $20 fee per stay. All pets must be house-trained. We ask that they not lounge on furniture without the protection of a towel or blanket. With regular sightings of bears on our property, it is recommended to keep animals on a leash, especially at night, to ensure you can move away from a bear and back into the house safely.
FIREPLACES & FIRES
Outdoor: We have an outdoor fire pit and provide firewood. We allow open fires but ask that you use the hose to put the fire all the way out. Thoroughly douse the fire with large amounts of water and ensure it is no longer smoldering. In the summer months, fires may not be allowed due to the high wildfire risk. We will let you know if it is not allowed.
Indoor:The indoor wood fireplace is nice to use in the winter. We will provide firewood next to the stove, and additional firewood is located on the front deck under the black tarp. Feel free to grab what you need during your stay. Make sure to leave the door closed while the fireplace is in use to prevent embers coming out onto the carpet. A small fire will go a long way to heat the house. Remember, heat rises so the upstairs gets really hot really fast. We do provide heaters upstairs when needed, but with the design of the house and the fact that heat rises you rarely need it. There are windows to release hot air if necessary.
BBQ: We have a large BBQ for your use and we hope you can make some delicious meals during your stay. We ask that you turn off the grill and then turn the propane gas tank all the way off. Once the grill is cooled, then cover it back up with the outdoor cover.
QUIET HOURS
Thank you for observing our quiet hours between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. This ensures the peace of the neighborhood and our standing as courteous neighbors.
TRASH DAY
As our trash day is on Tuesdays: an employee may come to the house on Monday evenings to roll our outside trash bins to the street. The bins are then returned near the front porch on Tuesdays. One less thing for you to worry about!
GUEST LIMIT
The home can accommodate up to nine guests total. To minimize wear and tear on our home, unregistered guests are not allowed.
SMOKING
To keep our home fresh and clean for everyone, smoking is not permitted inside. If smoke is detected, a $300 fee will be applied to your reservation. You can, however, smoke in the backyard (please close all doors and windows).
